Federal Protective Service Failing in Duties, According to GAO

Government Affairs Committee Adds Criticism to that of Homeland Security

Apparently the Federal Protective Service is failing us. The Federal Protective Service is in charge of protecting government buildings but according to Congressional testimony the Federal Protective Service isn't getting the job done.

Ed O'Keefe of "Federal Eye" has written an article titled "GAO: Major Security Flaws at Federal Buildings" that tells us that the Federal Protective Service which is a police agency charged with protecting thousands of government buildings nationwide has failed to keep bomb-making materials out of several buildings last year.

The Federal Protective Service guards about 9,000 buildings that houses 1,000,000 people; 350,000 of those people are in the Washington D.C. area.
Investigators carried explosives and low-yield detonators into buildings unchallenged. Further it didn't happen once but time after time.

The Government Affairs Committee (GAO) said that security reasons did not allow them to reveal the locations of the security breaches.
